During the 1950's there was a huge surge in the population, this was because there were many soldiers coming back home from the war to live their lives again. This new demand was the primary cause for many business expansions including food. During the next few years people were living a more full life there was no more depression and people were able to spend more and make more. This is one of the main reasons as to why there was a surge in the food industry, people could now afford to be fancy with what they bought. because of the peacetime there were many different types of goods to buy that were not available during the war.
This change in the way people were living and how the excitement of this new view on food affected many peoples lives becomes even more clear when there are advertisements that can almost be seen as a timeline for the fast change that was occurring.
